Soundgarden hit another level on Badmotorfinger. Slaves & Bulldozers crawls and explodes across nearly seven minutes, Searching With My Good Eye Closed turns heavy rock into something strangely hypnotic, while Room A Thousand Years Wide and Mind Riot show just how adventurous Soundgarden had become.
Produced by Soundgarden with Terry Date, the album catches the band at the perfect point between the raw force of their earlier work and the broader ambition that would soon produce Superunknown. Dense, strange, muscular and absolutely enormous, Badmotorfinger remains one of the essential heavy records of the early ’90s.
