Originally released in 1972 on United Artists, Ege Bamyası is the third studio album by German krautrock pioneers Can and a defining statement from their most influential period. The album features ‘Spoon’, which became an unexpected Top 10 hit in Germany after being used as the theme for the television thriller mini-series Das Messer (The Knife). That success enabled the band to move into a more advanced studio environment, sharpening the hypnotic precision and confidence that defines the record.
