You already know Cousin Tony’s Brand New Firebird hold a special place in Waxx Lyrical hearts. Their last record, Smiles of Earth, was our highest-selling album of 2022—an all-timer that connected with our community in ways we’re still feeling. So when our friends at Impressed and Double Drummer offered us a small batch of their brand new Rosewater Crocodile, we leapt at the chance.
 
For the uninitiated: Cousin Tony’s have been quietly, brilliantly, building a reputation as one of the most emotionally resonant and joy-filled live bands in Australia. Lachy Rose’s soaring vocals, euphoric horns, and the band’s big-hearted energy leave a mark. They’re the type of band that makes you feel everything. Their last hometown show at The Northcote Theatre saw over 1300 fans singing along, a proper celebration of connection and sound.
 
And now, with Rosewater Crocodile, Cousin Tony’s are back with their highly anticipated fourth album—and it’s a beauty.
