One of the greatest soundtracks of all time, Pulp Fiction rewrote the rules for what a film soundtrack could be. Rather than a traditional score, Quentin Tarantino curated a crate-digger’s dream — a mix of surf rock, soul, bubblegum pop, and rock ‘n’ roll, all cut through with snippets of iconic dialogue.
From Dick Dale’s scorching opener 'Misirlou' to Urge Overkill’s haunting take on Neil Diamond's 'Girl, You’ll Be a Woman Soon' and The Lively Ones’ 'Surf Rider', the soundtrack revived long-lost gems and introduced them to a whole new audience. It even helped launch Tarantino’s reputation as a master of pop music placement.
Released in 1994 and peaking at No. 21 in the US charts, Pulp Fiction remains a cultural flashpoint — not just a soundtrack, but a mixtape with a pulse.
