Some artists never lose their love for music—no matter how much of it they make. Timothy Carroll is one of them.
We’ve known Tim since the early days—before Holy Holy, before he booked A FESTIVAL CALLED PANAMA—when his angelic pipes filled The Troubadour in Brisbane and he was recording gorgeous campfire-side folk tunes, chasing songs that felt true with the same careful intention he now brings to every lyric. That kind of grounding stays with you. As the Brisbane-born vocalist and lyricist of Holy Holy, Tim’s been a driving force behind the band’s evolution from indie-rock roots to the genre-blurring, collaborative spirit that defines them now. Across five albums, most recently the ambitious and sonically rich Cellophane, his songwriting has remained deeply introspective—exploring growth, grief, connection, and everything in between. With the band now heading into a Grand Hiatus and Tim relocating to Sweden, this week’s Forever Five carries a sense of reflection and reverence. It’s an eclectic, timeless and heartfelt selection from someone who embodies the same and has spent the last decade deep in it—and somehow still loves music like it’s the first time.
