Known for her ingenious artistry, captivating live performances and unforgettable hits, RÓISÍN MURPHY is set to deliver an electrifying performance featuring fan favourites from her Moloko days to her acclaimed solo work. A favourite around here at Waxx Lyrical, Róisín Murphy first became known in the ’90s as part of the successful pop duo Moloko—you'll know songs like 'Sing It Back', 'The Time Is Now', 'Pure Pleasure Seeker' and 'Familiar Feeling', and has since forged an illustrious and critically acclaimed solo career with bangers like 'Overpowered', and 'You Know Me Better', amongst many!

For over three decades, Róisín Murphy has been a driving avant-garde force in electronic pop. Born in Ireland, she discovered her passion for music after her family relocated to Manchester during her teenage years. Her breakthrough came when she met bassist Mark Brydon at a party, queried "do you like my tight sweater?", leading to the formation of Moloko. The duo rose to global fame with hits like Sing It Back and The Time Is Now, before parting ways in 2004.
Murphy then moved to London and launched a dynamic solo career, releasing six boundary-pushing albums, including 2020’s Róisín Machine, a massive success. Her latest record, Hit Parade (2023), saw her team up with Hamburg producer DJ Koze. Peaking at #5 on the UK Album Chart—her highest entry to date—it earned critical acclaim and inspired the Hit Parade Remixes.
Having recently wowed crowds with a performance at London’s historic Royal Albert Hall that included Murphy backed by her incredible live band and an array of costume changes, expect a live show like no other when Murphy performs in Australia tomorrow. Expect singing, dancing and incredible outfit changes.
