Legendary synth-pop pioneers New Order have touched down in Australia , kicking off their highly anticipated tour tonight at Perth’s RAC Arena. The band will bring their signature electronic sound and decades of anthems to four cities, transforming some of the country’s most iconic venues into immersive, synth-fuelled wonderlands.
Following tonight’s show in Perth, New Order will head to Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl on March 8, Brisbane’s Riverstage on March 11, before wrapping up with two massive shows at the Sydney Opera House Forecourt on March 14 and 15.
Reflecting on their long-standing love for Australia, the band shared, “It’s an honour to be coming back to perform in one of our favourite places. We sadly had to cancel a Melbourne show in March 2020 as a consequence of COVID and are so happy we can come back to play again. We’ve always loved playing in Australia and are excited to be returning for a run of very special shows in 2025. Good things come to those who wait!”
From the ashes of Joy Division, New Order emerged as one of the most influential and enduring bands in modern music. Last year, they celebrated the 40th anniversary of their seminal track ‘Blue Monday’ and reissued their classic compilation Substance 1987, the band’s biggest-selling album to date. With over 3.5 million albums sold worldwide and a legacy that spans both post-punk and electronic innovation, New Order remain as relevant as ever, headlining major festivals like Barcelona’s Primavera Sound in 2023.
Their relationship with Australian audiences dates back to their first tour in 1982, shortly after releasing their debut album, Movement. Now, in 2025, they return with a career-spanning setlist packed with undeniable classics—think ‘Blue Monday’, ‘Temptation’, ‘Bizarre Love Triangle’, and beyond.
